14 January 2010

Pitt Town Soccer Club “Wind Up”.

Well almost, yes there was a real possibility that Pitt Town would not be part of the 2010 soccer season. The reasons being quite simple, the response from our 400 plus parents was so disappointing that a committee could not be formed. Thankfully a few of our all age players, a few parents and a few previous committee persons got together to form a committee for 2010.

All parents must start to take on an active role in the running of the club and stop with the excuses ( I work or I’m too busy ) we all work and we’re all busy but really we can all spare a couple of hours a month or the club will in the future fold. With this in mind the committee has endorsed changes which encourage greater involvement from parents and teams in the weekly running of activities “sharing the work load”.

Each team will need to have a coach (who this year must complete a FFA coaching coarse, more info later) a manager, a marshal, grounds official and team representatives for the committee. These roles will be explained in detail before the season commences. Any team that does not comply can, at the discretion of the committee, be stood down from playing.

Canteen

At this stage we still don’t have a canteen manager. The canteen generates most of our income which goes to pay for our children’s Presentation Day (drinks, food, trophies and rides). We don’t want our children to miss out on their day so a $25.00 canteen levy will be applied to every junior player’s registration fee (senior teams have a canteen manager). If you are interested in the canteen manager’s role give Phil Collins “President” a call on 0412147580. A team roster system will be in place to keep the canteen open for sales of bottled water and first aid facilities.

Yours Sincerely,

The Committee
